Has this happened to anyone else??

You're talking about skanking and someone overhears you and laughs hysterically.

For all
the wrong
reasons.

And then they won't believe you that you're talking about dancing.

No way.

C'mon.

Be serious.

It's gotten to the point where I never use it on flyers or talk about it in mixed company.

Anyone else relate????

I was making a flyer for a show a couple years ago and i needed some good graphics, so I googled the word, or atleast a phrase containing the word in it and some pictures came up. The Librarian wasn't too pleased to say the least....

The Skalapenos auditioned a girl to play trombone one time. Besides being awful, it turned out that there was an awfully good chance she'd have slept with everyone in the band. And we decided we wanted skanking in the crowd, not skanks on the stage.

Heh.

I straight up call 'em skanks. But I don't use the term "skank" I just say dance.

I'm not sure - I don't remember really seeing her at shows or anything, but her name started with a C.
