You are cordially invited to the Bluebeat Lounge 3rd Anniversary show on Saturday, January 14 featuring:

The Debonaires
Buck-O-Nine
Chris Murray Combo
Satori
The Phenomenauts
Soul Captives

The show is in the Knitting Factory main space. Doors are at 6pm. The show is all ages. Alcohol is available with ID.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day of show. With such a stellar line up, this event is likely to sell out, so buying advance tickets is recommended.

To buy advance tickets, visit:

Thanks to everyone who has supported Bluebeat over the past three years. It has been an incredible experience that could not have happened without all of you.

Hope to see you at the big show!
Peace,
Chris

WOW. Hard to believe it's been 3 years now. For anyone that doesn't know, Bluebeat Lounge is a weekly ska series at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood CA hosted by Chris Murray. Mike Park and I discussed how Chris set it up and it's never been a secret I'd eventually love to have something like that in Syracuse, maybe even starting in 2006.

BTW, that's an awesome lineup too. Check out the bio on Satori:

A fresh mix of reggae, bluebeat, rocksteady and ska. SATORI sounds like they could be straight from the streets of Kingston Jamaica, but instedy they are from Seal Beach/SF Bay Area CA. This project is the brainchild of Steve Borth (RX BANDITS, LINK 80), and features all the members of the RX BANDITS, plus guest spots by CHRIS MURRAY and members of THE EXIT. Inspired by Stevie Wonder, King Tubby, Lee "Skratch" Perry and Duke Ellington.

Definitely catch this show in LA if you can. Some of you might be out that way on Spring Break or it'd just be a great excuse for a quick trip (JetBlue has reasonably-priced tickets). :D

Awesome news!!!!

I'm pretty sure Satori doesn't actually include all the members of RxB. The live show is kind of a rotating door. It's like CMC where Steve just scrounged up whomever he can for the show. The album, i'm not quite sure who played on it entirely, but I can find out. Doesn't matter, it's a great album. If you haven't heard it, you should track it down.

i wish i could actually consider flying out for this. i really can't though. i just don't have the money. *sigh*
