"those of you who were at the last flaming tsunamis show know the deal.
those who weren't, obviously don't.
you're supposed to dress up either as a zombie, or a robot.
and when the flaming tsunamis play, the room splits, and they battle.
its fun to be part of, and f*ck hilarious to watch."

You go to NJ a lot, don't you Danny?
I WISH I was going to this show.
Holy crap.

On another note, to SkaDanny this time.. (well, kind of to everyone else too)
I know the chick that booked this show.
Apparently she has an in with Long Shot Hero, they're good friends or something.
Would we ever be interested in having them up?

I recall some positive rumbles in one of the "suggest a band to book" threads.

Mike hates them, of course.

So would we be intersted in trying something out like this some time? I ____ vs. ____ whatever themed show? Have the bands dress up too! It'd be great!

What do you kids say?

I'd rather just go to the show and have a good time. No gimmicks necessary.

I think we defo should have these themed shows.
It would make the show a lot more intresting.
Dressing up for shows and having battles, IMO makes the show 5x more awesome.
TFT are one of my favorite ska bands. I'd love to see them!!

I adore LSH as well, but I hear that their new guitarist is a dick. It's actually why Shady, their old trombone player and the girl who booked the show, quit.

They were auditioning for a while, and Mr. Hero was gonna go play for them, but they decided to go with the dude they have playing guitar now like a week before he was supposed to go to one of their practices. We were both very disappointed.

At any rate, I know Shady, and she's still cool with them, so ... :?:

Yeah, I really honestly do just love going to shows and dancing my tush off and singing my voice away, but I think that a fun little thing like this every once and a while would be awesome. Just something to spice things up, ya know?

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've gone to a show with a gimmick like that. Even as something as simple as Punk vs Ska shows.

For me, at least, it creates a really weird vibe.

Now, it'd be totally different if, say, you were doing a house show/party. Then it could be really fun to do some sort of gimmic.

Generally, though, I just find gimmics for shows really tired and played out.

Yup. That just distracts from the music. LAME.

See, I've never been to a show with a "gimmick" like that.

I feel so young..
