Just got off the phone with Matt. Castle Rockmoore is history now. One of their neighbors has had enough, so they're done. They're scrambling to relocate their late April shows, possibly to Allen Street, possibly to a place I was already checking out.

Castle Rockmoore lasted almost 2 years, which is a good run for house shows honestly. They'll be missed, for sure.

Matt said they'll probably still do some of the lighter shows, acoustic and indie stuff (I assume is what he meant). House had such a good run.
We're doing a few shows at 560 again since my brother lives there now. Definitely not trying to overdue anything there though - picking it up slowly hopefully so it doesn't get cut out quick.

Need someplace like The Jerk Palace in Rochester - it's above an abandoned storefront in an essentially abandoned (especially at night) neighborhood.

The issue is that the neighbors got fed up with the noise, so they really can't use the attic or do anything amplified. That's horribly limiting.

There's still Spark, but they have limited availability. And while it's good Allen Street is coming back, they're right by taking it slow. Really no point to do one or two shows and get shut down.

This is why I'm checking into some other spaces as well. I'm getting some interesting show offers, but I need more flexible options to make some of these work.

Has anyone been to the Gear Factory yet? It's that old factory at the corner of Geddes and Fayette. Doesn't look like much from the outside but I hear the inside is pretty decent. I'm looking into using it for a show.

i've been to an art opening upstairs at the factory and its a huge place with no neighbors to give a shit about noise and would be a great ska show venue. easy for bands to come off 690 and find. it has no parking lot that i know of, but the syracuse teachers center lot is a lil further up fayette. that westside
is the future arts corridor and has lots of old industrial buildings that could work.
