Ha Aaron, you got it posted here faster than I did (even if by like 2 minutes) -- thanks!

I may try to make it out for this. My band has shows on the 1st and 3rd, and I might have the 2nd off of work. Which would rule.

Cool. And then you could properly introduce yourself. :blackeye:

BTW, I've already asked several locals to open for this, just waiting for them to get back to me. Major props on this to Funk'n Waffles for bumping an existing show for this one.

This looks like fun.
Too bad I have to be stuck at Sports Dickery yet again.

Yeah, I can't believe it's taken this long to shift this from the alley to the actual stage.

For anyone that doesn't already know, Rob has been playing acoustically in the alley in front of Funk'n Waffles during ska shows for quite a long time. I've been bugging him all along to actually play on stage sometime as part of the actual show and I guess 2009 is finally the time. And I'm hoping he can convince Claire to join him, as that acoustic set at Recess was AMAZING.

I had quite a jolly ole' time tonight.

Rob's set (with his special guests of Matt and Claire) was awesome.
The Saves the Day cover was my favorite part.

This is a Stick Up was sick, high energy, good stuff.

and Forty Lashes are always great.

Good guys, and they seem to get better every time I see them.

I'm stoked on being able to play acoustic at shows. It was a ton of fun to be able to play with Claire and Matt.
Not to let much out right now but expect to see a lot more of Claire in the future of acoustic performances.
I haven't seen ANY of those bands aside from TIASU. I was pleasantly surprised with them all aside from a few too many streetlight covers.
The Furies - SHUT THE f*ck UP
This Is A Stick Up - Alien Scum Guest vocals made my night.
Forty Lashes - Not so much my thing but pretty good.
4.0 - Very talented kids. Too many covers, especially of bands that are still around. Someone tell them the rule.

I felt really out of the loop last night though, knowing less than a handful of people. No one circle pits fast, still.
At one point when I was in the hallway writing something with Claire some kid yelled at me. I found out later from one of the kids in the last band that the kid yelled something like "4 point 0 is better than you!" or something. I guess he went up to them and bragged that he had set me in my place. They apologized on his behalf, I lol'd pretty hard.

ITT: Saves The Day Covers.

Even though I'm crazy late with this, just wanna thank everyone again that came out for this, whether to watch or participate. This is why I love last minute shows like this one, because they tend to be far less predictable and therefore a lot more fun.

And I want to concur that Rob & Claire need to do this a LOT more often.

Also, in some fairness, I guess 4 Point 0 didn't mean to play the 2nd Streetlight cover, but they had no other songs ready to go and didn't expect to play an encore. Maybe they should have just played an earlier song again -- its a goofy thing to do, but I've been seeing it more and more and I really don't mind if its a band I like.

pretty sure that was the only song they had left, too. they had already done their five originals and all of their other covers.
