what do you all think?

I'm a big fan. Always have been, although my faith has dropped w/ each release.... but this sounds absolutely great.

i've already preordered, this album is the "real" follow-up to anthem. "out crowd" was one of the worst albums ever, with the exception of a couple of tracks. i'm so pumped.

what, you think that they'll put up the full songs? then no one would buy their record. just because they're awesome doesn't mean that they don't want the cash-money

I am not expecting this album to be good. All I need is hello rockview anthem and b is for b-sides.

really? i agree with rockview and anthem, but b-side has 3-4 good songs (sobriety, national anthem, a.s.a.o.k., robots one). also, how can you really tell if the album isn't going to be good? they're only 30 sec. clips, and most of them sound pretty awesome.

overall: clip ratings

Are you f*ck kidding me? B is for B-sides is probably my second favorite album by them. The only thing wrong with it is the horns are too quiet. Probably some of the catchiest songs with the best lyrics. The acoustic versions of Portrait of a Cigarette Smoker and Sleep it Off are awesome.

If you think B is for B-Sides sucked except for those songs your opinion doesn't count. Bridge and Tunnel Authority, Sleep It Off, JAY Frenzal all are mint. The only lackluster songs on there are Robots One and 911 to anyone.

The two full songs I have heard from this new album are nothing special and are not catchy. I am not going to even waste my time with thirty second clips

I've only listened to the first couple tracks, but I am pretty happy with the sound. Less Than Jake was my favorite band when I was like 14, but I haven't been able to stomach anything they've put out since Hello Rockview (and even that was a pretty disappointing release for me- definitely some good songs, but the level of sheer ridiculous overproduction can only be compared to bad '80s hair metal and late '90s pop). Anyway, I'm liking it so far.

I don't know. It seems to me like they aren't really progressing in any way, which is alright if they don't want to. I do like the fact that they actually put some ska on this one, but it seems like more of the same in a big way. Personally, I like pop-ska less and less as I get older, but it's still fun from time to time.

Hello Rockview
B is for B Sides
Anthem

Top three records.
I also love the earlier stuff as well (Cause I like bad music)

In With the Out Crowd was not as awful as everyone likes to pretend either.

Anyway. Less Than Jake followed in the footsteps of their fellow 90's ska superstars Reel Big Fish in doing this.

"Hey remember when we wrote records that sounded like Less Than Jake? Let's not use any of our creativity and just create something that people who liked Anthem will like!"
That's how I feel anyway. I enjoyed this album first time through, it's not spectacular, but it's not as bad as some other ska bands attempt at rehashing to the haydays of ska.

Oh well, one thing Less Than Jake is good for doing is playing songs from throughout their career and not forgetting the early years, so I'm pumped to be seeing them for the first time this summer (I suck at ska, but how can you not? Of course unless you have forgotten everything you know about ska

Losing Streak is an easy #1 for me. That album got me into ska and punk in general, so I'm sure I'm biased. It's still one of my favorite ska/punk albums. Pezcore is close. I more or less gave up on them after Borders and Boundaries, but there's a few solid tracks on Anthem.

And upon further listening, nothing too special on the new one, but it's fun.

Ok, CD came last night. not bad, but not great either. there are a few standout tracks, but some of the songs are just too emo. vinnie need to take some prozac or something, that shit is depressing. it seem to be a theme lately, and i'm not too sure if thats the direction of the band or if thats just them trying to sell more records in the current music industry or what.
