Bomb The Music Industry! are going on tour in November. I know it doesn't list Syracuse/Rochester/Buffalo in http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=7010097&blogID=50884988, but it'd be worth to try and see if they'd play up here. I'd personally chip in money to pay for them.

I'd email them, but if they email me back saying anything I don't want to sound stupid by not knowing anything about booking. Plus SkaDanny has a pretty awesome reputation for booking shows.

So, what I'm asking is, can one of you please email them and see if there's a chance that they could come up here. It would be amazing (and I think a bunch of people on here would agree).

Their live show is really impressive, and it totally takes the music to another level.

I really want to see them, they are my favorite band nowadays, and if Skadanny booked them, i wouldn't ask anymore questions like "how old are you" and "whats your last name?"

You shouldn't ever listen to a Rosenstock band UNLESS you've seen him play a live show.

I actually just left Jeff a message on myspace telling him he had a pretty strong following in 'Cuse and it might be worth considering.

I'll see him next weekend (in his ASOB form though) and I'll probably mention it to him. Maybe i'll even mention it to John or Mike if I get a chance to talk to either of them.

I wonder if this BTMI! tour-ish thing is going to include the horns... I've seen them without horns more times than I have with- and they're definitely better with the horns. Jason and Dave just add a new element to it (not to mention Jason and Dave are incredibly cool guys-[and they play in a good band *cough* high school football heroes *Cough*])

I agree. The live recording they released with the horns is awesome. It's a shame Jeff didn't play the horn lines on the Album Minus Band recordings with his sax - it's the one thing keeping it from being perfect.

And thanks a lot for telling him about the Syracuse thing. It would rock if they came.

I'm actually currently pondering IMing him and seeing if it's a possibility, but that'd be really random of me and I'm thinking it's not a great idea. I'll just talk to him next Sunday.

I missed the BTMI set in Knoxville, but I heard good things about it. I didn't realize the connection at the time with ASOB, which I know quite well, since I've booked them to Syracuse numerous times.

Feel free to email them and have them email me, whoever does their bookings. My email is danny@wxxe.org if you don't know. It's pretty common that it often takes awhile for us to work actual shows out, depending on how much money and/or how big a show they're looking for. I really have little idea how big a deal they'd be to book right now. ASOB was always a pretty cheap booking and a mild draw around here, but maybe BTMI would be different?

If I let that stop me, I never would've booked The Know How. ;)

Their agent basically held my hand and walked me through the contract.

One section I want to do on roc-ska.com is my progress through Booking & Promoting 101 at the School of Hard Knocks.

As far as I know, BTMI just wants money for gas and tolls to get to the show. Maybe a little extra to eat.

I'm not sure how much they'll draw though. They didn't draw many people to the first show which was in NJ a while back which was a surprise to me because ASOB draws SO many people in NJ. I think in the last year and a half ASOB's name has gotten out there a lot and with their trials and tribulations, BTMI has kind of managed to ride that wave.

The thing is, I'm not sure how large their fan base actually is. It seems it's like Streetlight's fanbase was when SM first started- the kids that are into them, are really, really into them. But it seems to be a small, but ever-growing population that is into them...

BTMI! had one of the largest crowds at Ska Weekend.

How they drew in Knoxville, Tennessee isn't a very good indicator of how they'd draw in Upstate NY, but thanks.

I'm well aware of that. I was at BTMI's first show, and I really think there were 50 people there.

I wasn't addressing that as a reason to bring them here, I was addressing it to Danny's point that he wasn't sure how well they would draw outside of the Tri-State Area.

The thing about BTMI at Ska Weekend was that everyone thought it was going to be ASOB. The video that I saw from that looked like no one really knew what was going on.

The name is definitely out there, but I'm not sure how they'll do elsewhere. I mean, the LI show wasn't even that full and that was only a couple of months ago (and with one of the best local show line-ups i've been to- 33 West, The Know How, I Voted For Kodos, Jay Tea, and Bomb the Music Industry!).

I'd love to see them up here. I mean, I'd love to see them anywhere- that's why I do it all the time....
