So someone else got up the initiative to start a new Michigan Ska forum after I left the old shitty one disappear into obscurity. Any tips on how to get people to it, how to get people to contribute, etc.? If anyone wants to help out at all, please feel free to join up, by the way. You'll notice some things borrowed from other message boards...

1.) get the bands in your area on board and get them to plug it/post there

2.) flyer for it at shows

3.) post about it with a link on other message boards

4.) myspace/aim assualt on anyone living in Michigan who lists liking a "ska band" in their profile with invitations with links and whatnot.

Dumb question Matt, but why didn't they just take over the existing messageboard you created? That'd have given them a running start. I just don't get starting over from scratch if you don't have to do that. :aaargh:

The other one sucked in terms of software, first of all, and I just didn't have the heart to dig up that old skeleton. It would be be like building a city atop the ruins of another city that long since been forgotten.
