We have just confirmed that we are playing Ska Weekend in Knoxville, TN on Saturday 7/19. We are planning to play some shows on the way down there on Thursday 7/17 and Friday 7/18 (possibly with The Pietasters) so anyone heading down is welcome to caravan with us and come to the shows we are playing on the way. More details when they are available.

Some of us are looking again to attend Ska Weekend in Knoxville TN. It's a straight shot down I-81 from Syracuse. Interestingly, I-81 runs out just outside Knoxville.

Do we know any of the headliners yet?

So far this festival is not worth the drive.

I think ska weekend should expand into pop punk as well.

I know the headliners! It's going to be way smaller than years past, but it'll still be a good time. Plus, I get my own stage!

Maybe smaller is smarter. Knoxville is just too out of the way and not a very popular destination city, which I think has hurt this event a lot in past years. Version City & 3 Floors are both in NYC and Ska Summit & International Ska Circus have been in Las Vegas. Night and day destinations. Heck, even Big Orange Bonanza is at least close to the huge population area of the Tri-State area. Ska Weekend is near ... nothing.

Mind you, I like Knoxville as a city and I'm very aware its almost exactly the same size metro as Syracuse (look it up) and that it has a major university (Univ of Tennessee). But would I visit Knoxville aside from Ska Weekend? Highly unlikely. Just sayin'. :|

I really want to go to Knoxville.

But ska weekend has never intrigued me to go.

GET POP PUNK BANDS!!!
(like bands associated with the ska scene, whole wheat bread, patent pending, etc.)

meh i disagree on that one. I think its fine sticking with all ska bands. They never seem to have a problem drawing a crowd.

Blows my mind that Manic Sewing Circle is not only still around, but TOURING. Really nice kids, just didn't see them sticking around.

We Are The Union played last year and IV4K played at least the two previous years. If those aren't ska-associated pop-punk bands, I don't know what are.

Aaron, you're definitely going, or your getting kicked out of Matt Wixson.

A casual ska fan would call WATU and IV4K ska (yes because they have horns).
I'm talking about the pop punk bands like Patent Pending and WWB and the Phenomonauts and idk.
