This guy releases like three albums a year. They can't be that good.

This, like everything else he's ever done, is a really good album.

agreed. i have had a copy for a week now and have been listening non-stop. (check the last.fm)

I really enjoy the new versions of old material and an digging all the collaborations. Vic always puts out quality stuff and I am diggin this new one and the variety of musical styles that are employed on it.

For the first time ever, I requested tunes to be played at the slackers show in Ithaca. Included on the list were hopeful pleas for slackers versions of "love of confusion" and "Taking Care of Business" : D

You'd be surprised then. I like some of his stuff more than others, but I've never heard him put out crap. He just writes a lot.

Thanks for posting this go go gergie! Great, great stuff.

And don't forget, we've had Vic Ruggiero solo before as well and he's said he'd like to play here again that way as well. :D

This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. I'm pretty sure I like this better than the Slackers.

As much as I love the Slackers, I think the solo stuff works better because he's not as confined to one sound (ska). The solo material gives him some room to try different arrangements with different musicians and I think it really works in his favor. I think Vic would be recognized as one of our generation's best songwriters if he wasn't fronting a ska band...

By the way, does anyone have the pre-Slackers garage stuff? I think the band was called the Nods. Been looking for it for a while...

Agreeable that vic is a sensational song writer and as zI mentioned above, hearing the different styles he employs in his songwriting make is albums memorable and intoxicating to me. But I do, however, love the slackers and his contributions to ska and reggae music. I feel his lyrics and musical compositions have a good voice with ska but I do see his folkier efforts and folky versions of slack material to be just as good or better in many ways.

...and the nods...yes i do. i can up it somewhere for you this weekend.
pm me yer ishmail.
