Looting

-Valuables pillaged in time of war; spoils.
-Stolen goods.
-To pillage; spoil.
-To take as spoils; steal.

These people werent 'finding' anything. They were taking shit in mass quantities. This, is looting. Dont turn this into a racial thing. Racism is fueled by the whole "OMFG PPL R BEING RACIST LIKE THIS LOOK". When you say IGNORANT BULLSHIT like that, you're enforcing the ideas that racism is bigger than it is, which actually makes it bigger over time. Racism isnt a one way street. Its not an issue of only white people are racists. When a black man says that the white man is holding him down, thats racism, too.
Pull your heads out of your asses people. Shit.

Also, why dont you look more carefully at the pictures. The white people took a loaf of bread and a soda. The black guy has a f*ck BAG of stuff.

We all know what looting is, and we are all intelligent enough to realize that all three individuals in the pictures committed the act.

But read the captions, the first picture it says they "found" the goods at the grocery store, the second one claims "looting." No one can say definitively which is right, because the photograph was taken after the action took place, but Skadanny is raising the issue with how the actions are being reported. That's it.

No one is "screaming racism."

look at the pictures again. The two people both have backpacks. For all YOU know they're filled so much the bread couldn't fit. With the "looter" you don't know what's in that bag.

Oh yea and the one article calling it Looting is by AP, the one saying Finding was AFP. They aren't the same. AFP is French. So it could just be their way of saying looting or stealing.

Maybe they're different authors and race had nothing to do with it?

I've been reading a lot about the aftermath of Katrina and some of the taking of stuff is seen as legit and some not. I read somewhere that the New Orleans cops allowed in one store for people to take shoes, "as long as they fit their feet". Likewise, I read in another place where NO cops supervised the taking of items from a drug store, because they asked people what they needed and then handed them out. In both instances, the cops being involved would have lent legitimacy to taking of the stuff without paying for them, but I'm wondering if the store owners see it like that.

Usually under these circumstances, looting is taking stuff without paying for it, period. For whatever reason. But there seemed to be some assumptions in the captions of those photos that maybe we don't agree with.

Well, the pictures were showing people looting for food. Thats bad? If you need it, get it. I'm not saying looting is a good thing but it's food that they are looting. And I believe that is a case of pepsi the person is holding, not beer. I could be wrong though.

Store owners dont have a say anymore, they have declared Marshall Law...

Gang wars have erupted. Cops won't stop the looting. They can't. Half the looters walking around in large groups with guns. 1 cop on a corner isn't about to start a fire fight with like 5 dudes packin' AK's.
