That's part of the charm of a message board. It leads to discussion, sometimes that discussion strays from the original intent. But say I comment on the original post, someone sees what I see and that reminds them of something else, and someone else sees something else, etc.

If you were to start a new topic for EVERY part of the discussion that would lead to a gazillion threads with like no replies.

I mean think about it, when you have a real conversation it's the same way. It may start about a band, and you may end up talking about a restaurant.

Well, I mean, I always thought if the title of a post read "Wanted: Ska Band with Serious Ambition", then only members of a ska band, who infact have serious ambition should post a response. I could be wrong though, I'm sure there is among us one much more superior and wiser who will supply us with a rather (in)adequate response to this question.

And to see everything else is to become an understanding molecule in evolution, a conscious tool of the universe...[not] unconscious or zonked out, I'm talking about being fully conscious...the Grateful Dead should be sponsored by the government or something. It should be a public service, you know, and they should set us up to play at places that need to get high."-Jerry Garcia, 1972

This board runs off phpBB correct? If he or if he has moderators they can split the topic so to keep the original one and start a new thread with those posts.

If I recall he used to play guitar and sing in The Charleton Hestons which was previously called something I can't remember, they were pretty darn good from the songs I heard. Ha.

Anyway, I don't think he is anymore, so in my opinion if you're not trying don't criticize those who are. I don't care anymore this is getting so old.

But I know he stated in one of his comments that he'd never seen bill reilly play, but yet he was gracious enough to stick his neck out for us. If he's never seen us play he has no reason/excuse/proof to judge or critique us in anyway. If he does he's doing it all based on other people's opinions of us, and in any scenario, if you make up your mind based on other people's opinions, without looking into them on your own for yourself first, whether it be about life/politics/social issues/ or even just a lousy band, you're being very foolish.

Sorry for keeping this going, somebody had to.

Uhh he didn't criticize you at all. That's the beauty of it all. He didn't say a single thing of negativity towards you guys till you made a cry baby fest outta it.

and your excuse of you can't judge us without being in a band is retarded. That idea holds absolutely no frickin' water. Are you saying I can ONLY like a band but I can't say I don't?

Welcome to the world of being in a band. If you can't hack a pun with your band's name then seriously, call it quits.

Oh yea, to add to Steven Q. Parker's list of what and who he is....he like's RAMBO and Fifteen.

Good point Adam.

I've now corrected it.

BTW, I'd have done it sooner, but I wasn't online when most of this happened. But I'll be online more often, so be good!!!

You guys can all it whatever you want criticism or not, it's easier for us to catch it and take it the wrong way though because we get it all the time.

The fact is, though, he used our name in a sarcastic manner to make a joke because it's known by all who've seen us (and all who haven't by now) we aren't very good.

So maybe he didn't pick apart our horn section, or tell us particularly what songs sucked and why we were so bad, thats obviously what you consider critiquing, but he did make a low blow against our band. Which is fine we can take criticism! But as far as I knew up until this point, Steven Parker was just some lard who sat at his computer all day browsing message boards and poking fun at people. And if that's the case then he has no business saying anybody sucks.

You don't have to be in a band to tell somebody their band sucks, but if you're not doing anything to benefit the scene, or you don't know how hard it is to be in a successful band, then no i dont really think you have much of a right to tell somebody their band sucks. Sure you can hold that opinion, and even speak your opinion if it ever comes up in conversation, but you don't need to go around proclaiming it the first chance you get.

He had said he'd never seen us, now apparantly he has, whatever I don't care, but I don't think it's right for anyone to talk about a band in a manner as if you know for a fact, unless you've seen them for yourself.

Cry Baby Fest? All of you who threw in your own two-sense and opinions didn't help either.

It would have gone a lot quicker had it taken the route it would have

SP "You Guys Aren't Very Good"
BRE "Screw You"

THE END

Instead everybody got on our case and continued it. Who Cares It's Over Now.
