I'm just curious how the whole ska scene in Syracuse is going. When I left like in June it seemed that the return of the high school ska-punk bands were on the rise which may not be my taste still a good thing. Please don't tell me any of the GOOD shows going on though, I don't want to get angry about not seeing them!

The title is a very bad pun but I wouldn't doubt someone thought of that for a compilation title...

Well, I'm kinda surprised you call the high school bands "ska-punk", since we seem to have clearly gravitated away from that. But then again, if you're a trad head, anything but trad is ska-punk I suspicion, right?

This new venue UCF Underground is a godsend. We'll probably be doing most of our high school shows there. Both shows there have been incredible and they really love us there, which always feels good.

Coffee Pavilion is nice too and we'll always have the Westcott. And in a few weeks, we'll have The Benefits back. I'm quite happy so far. :D

Haha. I call mostly everything that uses distortion at all ska-punk.

I'm glad to hear there's a new venue to use. Sounds like things are kickin' up.

At the risk of offending anyone, I'd argue that the UCF Underground is MUCH cooler than the Westcott. It's like playing in some kids basement, but with more room and comfort.

My only complaint about UCF, and it's a very minor one, the circle tends to go around those poles, and I'm getting way to old to skank in a circle that big :D

Agreed. The UCF is much MUCH better than the Westcott.

However, I shall always remain a loyal fan to the Coffee Pavilion. Or maybe it's just that I love coffee...

well, i'd argue that the UCF underground would be MUCH cooler if it was a trad ska show. in fact any show is much cooler if it is trad ska

go go gergie signing off.

I'm working on bringing SGR here this fall from Philly and bringing back Westbound Train as well.
