Your last chance to hear BuddhaDUB this year (and maybe forever) happens on Thursday night 12/22 at Milestones. 10:PM $2. Boy, the music business really bites. Somebody please bring a cake.

There's a Sublime cover band in town and I wasn't informed?

And he obviously meant 12/22, since that's this coming Thursday.

There is about 300 Sublime cover badns named Bad Fish.

This one used to be called Badfish, but recently changed their name to something I can't remember.

40 Oz. to Freedom

I guess it's a law that a cover band has to be named after an album or song by the band they cover.

God, that must get boring. They play a show about every two weeks.

What is it that inspires someone to form a cover band, anyway?

They're very lucrative financially. Venues and fans always pay more for music they know than music they don't. You can pack a venue for a good cover band, pay the guys $500 and everyone comes out ahead. Try that with original music.

I come at it from a different perspective: I'd slit my wrists if I had to keep playing the same songs the same way over and over again.

I hate reality.

But then I want to take singing lessons so I can do Desmond Dekker covers, so what do I know?

I was thinking it'd be great to have a cover band of just general great old ska/rocksteady/reggae tunes.

Also soul. Having a Stax/Volt style soul band has always been a pipe dream of mine...

It's one of my favorites too. :)

BTW, the reference was intentional.
