If anyone is think of going to water street here s areview from this tour:
Last night Buju performed for about an hour and forty minutes in front of a dissapointing but ample crowd for a Thursday night at Philadelphia's Electric Factory.
Opening for Buju besides the Slackers was a new DJ named Nu Kid, he looked like he was fresh from yard. The nice surprise was also opening was Dancehall artist Assassin. He performed for about 15 minutes and it was a wicked set. Assassin performed his hits Step Pon Dem and Idiot Thing. He worked with the Shiloh band and his little set was fabulous. It reminded me of his performance with Buju at Rebel Salute last year.
After Assassin it was time for Buju who came out in a white suit jacket and pants. Buju performed all of his hits from the past and also worked in current hits Too Bloody on Hard Drugs Riddim, Another Don Comes Down and Me Too Bad on The Throwback Giggy Riddim. He also performed a new song from his cd to come out sometime next year called Magic City. The Shiloh band was in top form on this new track as they got to show their talents for an extended jam.
Buju closed the show by doing a tribute to the people who laid the foundation for him including Peter Tosh Dennis Brown and Bob Marley.
The thing about Buju that cannot be denied is that he seems to put his heart and soul into every show and makes all of his songs seem so heartfelt. His energy on stage is non stop and it is very uplifting and it just makes for a great night of reggae music.
I will try andpost some pictures of the Evening later on tonight sometime.

At work today with that late night reggae show energy buzz.

Jerry
