i fill a selected rectangle with the paint bucket tool, the opacity is 100%
on my photoshop screen it looks solid red, i even click that bucket a few times to really make sure its filled that empty rectangle. then i post it on myspace and whammo the color is spotty and shitty this happens a lot. any help? thnx a

it looks solid red here...be sure your color profile/settings are set to rgb in photoshop. it looks fine here tho.

I see a little dithering around the "riddimwise" text, is that what you mean by spotty?

I don't have photoshop, but I have the same problem with Paint Shop Pro unless I use the Export to JPEG tool.

if thats what you mean adam, its just because your image is probably on some web ready setting and is lower res.

you can check by saving it to your hard drive then opening the resulting jpeg separately. If the spots show up, then the jpeg file is being compressed by photoshop.

If they don't, then it might be myspace being stupid.

Yeah, I've about given up on JPG files. I've been using PNG lately, which seems to dither a lot less. No idea how that'd compare to GIF, although traditionally GIF files are significantly lower resolution than JPG. Great for simple graphics like you have there, but inferior for high resolution photos.

im pretty sure you can upload TIFF to most places, and its a lossless compression from photoshop so you wont get any blocking

also if you save something as a jpeg over and over again, it compresses every time and youll lose quality more and more each time

True, except I'm pretty sure MySpace won't accept TIFF files, but they do accept PNG.


Very, very true. Usually its a very noticeable loss even the 2nd time.

haha, yeah, I noticed the same thing. I thought about cleaning the graphic up but I'm too lazy
