Justin of Mrs. Skannotto mentioned they were interested in playing Rochester again.

But the Contact link doesn't work. :(

None of the links work, actually...

Call me Twitch and I can get you in contact with them, no problem.

But they seem to have gotten a bit pricey, last I asked.

WAIT A MINUTE.

PLEASE tell me they're NOT calling themselves The Ops now as a full, complete name.

I'm sorry, but that's just silly ...

If I hadn't already heard of them, I would think they had a spy theme going on...

Which wouldn't be that bad, but...

Never hurts to get a price quote before deciding against.

And believe me, even if (and that's a gigantic IF) the Know How show goes out like gangbusters, I'm sticking to cheaper gambles for a while. Otherwise they'll start calling me Seizure. :P

Honestly, Felski wanted more money than the Know How is getting. That might make sense in Rochester where The Ops are a legit draw, but I don't think an all ages show in Syracuse can make that work very easily. They're just not big enough here for me to justify spending that much on them yet.

My impression is that they've done so few out of town gigs (and never really booked anyone from out of town either), that they really have no concept of what anyone else charges. I also strongly suspect the number was based on several members missing out on work, which is always a problem for "older" (post-college) bands. The Hot Steppers have problems playing for a low guarantee too (the work issue), although they are still asking for a lot less than Felski was AND they realize its a problem.

Ha. Well, if you ever want to book us (nudge, nudge, wink, wink), we'll play for enough to cover gas, food & tolls. 'Course, these days, gassin' up my van is around 75$, and we're a fat band. But we're still nowhere near that wheelhouse...

Especially since TKH has a record label, an agent, and has toured all over hell's half acre...

You laugh, but ask SkaDanny or Preacher Mike about it. You get me discussing risks and work put in and marshalling the three dozen other factors that come into play, and I start to crack like a whip.
