Where can I buy some Ska, Reggea and dancehall cds? SOund Garden has some but what about online? Jump-Up has a nice selection, I'd like to know where I can find more.
I really love JumpUp for their international selection. Chuck Wren gets in some pretty obscure stuff thats otherwise really tough to order online (try mailorder from Mexico or Denmark like I have and see what I mean). But he's not big on the more "mainstream" stuff you might mean, in which case, yeah, sites like half.com and just good used bins can always be key.
It's not exactly the same thing, but I just scored a very cool Madness t-shirt for 10 bucks the other day off the clearance rack at Sound Garden, go figure.

And what does everyone think about Reggeaton? MTV2 had a little special showing artist from the genre. I think it's a neat style.
Yeah, it actually reminds me of some variations of ska I've heard as well, except reggaeton is more closely associated with gangsta rap, which I steer clear of. Rap of course developed from Jamaican ska toasting (which is how they became The Toasters), so I really don't see the conflict in mixing ska and rap -- it's done a lot more frequently in Europe than here. But the gangsta style, no, sorry, that's nothing I want to associate with.
But the other elements of reggaeton are very cool and very adaptable to ska, if anyone wants to explore that more closely ...
