oh, irony. if i were actually going to join in on the over-rated thread, i would have thrown Against Me! on my over rated list.

YEP.

Now I would definitely throw them in the over rated category.

But, they were the bee's knees back in the day... back in the day before anyone would even consider rating them.

AM! may be less known, but those who know them tend to think they are the Gods of music.

I won't disagree with the fact I think they are amazing, but they are overrated by those who listen to them.

I'm really suprised that the Arrogant Sons Of Bitches aren't as popular as they should be. I've talked to people who know who the High School Football Heroes are but not ASOB.

wow, that's really interesting. my being from queens means that i've been pretty into the LI scene for a while. about 4 or 5 years ago, no one knew who ASOB was, and the talk of the town (and my high school) was HSFH. I actually got in an argument with a friend about it, because while at the time i loved HSFH, i really didn't think they could compare at all to ASOB. At the time, HSFH I really thought HSFH was over-rated and ASOB under-rated.

Now, since "Close Only Counts..." came out, i've been really in love with HSFH. They're great guys and their music is amazing, but ASOB is one of my favorite bands.

I agree that ASOB doesn't get the recognition that they should (not that it matter since they're breaking up) but at this point, neither does HSFH...

I have a patch for HSFH but don't remember when I saw them exactally. And I was amoung 6 people who saw ASOB at the Wescott when they showed up super late to a show and everybody had left.

hsfh played with the know how at salt city last year at what was the benefits first show. originally Too Short Notice was supposed to be on the show, but they had to drop so HSFH replaced them as an opener, then HSFH hit massive traffic coming up from LI and got there in the middle of the Know How's set and ended up playing after the know how.

in the last 2 years-ish ASOB hasn't been up here because i've been harrassing jeff and the guys to come up to CNY since i came to cornell. the closest to that was running into jeff at the miasmics, the benefits, and big d at the westcott, but he was just there cause he's friends with Big D.

I remember there was a while back when ASOB was going to play in Canandaigua with The Expired but they ended up canceling.

I'll just tell ya, in my opinion, the most underrated ska band...

COMMON RIDER

This band is so good. Inspirational lyrics with awesome music to accompany them... I don't understand why people let this band just go out with a sigh.

Hands down my favorite ska band.
