Today out of the blue, Felski of Amy Ryan & the Operatives got ahold of me and we talked for awhile ...

The long and the short of it is, they really wanna play Syracuse again soon, albeit maybe under this new name "The Push" they're using now. BTW, I strongly suggested they go back to the old name, because its too confusing otherwise at best and at worst, they start back at zero building up name recognition again.

They want to set up an all ages and 21+ combo where the bar gig will pay them what they need, so they can still do an all ages gig that probably won't pay much. I'm excited they're thinking creatively like that.

Stay tuned. I really hope this works out!!!!! :D

Yea I too think they should use the old name. Perhaps they don't want to because it'll remind them of the circumstances of their break up. I don't know if it was bad or not.

I don't get the impression that was the issue. It just seems to be that half the band is gone and therefore, half the band is new. The only "old" members we remember are Amy on vox, Grif on sax and Felski on drums. But they're doing Ops songs, and the core of the band is still there, so I agree with you about using the old name ...
