I really badly need to update the Full Moon Scooter Club site.

my girlfriend's professor (from london) is a huge scooterhead and has like 20 in his garage, with like 12 of them running. He's selling me a Lambretta SX200 in decent condition for crazy cheap, and even is offering to help tune it up and get it highway rideable. So, i'll be able to come up to cuse for more than a day or two just to see my parents. It's white(and rust) with a bright red seat.

Can't wait.

As long as it's decently tuned, you should have no problem riding on the interstates. But PLEASE make sure you lock it up securely everywhere you go!!! Lammies are stolen waaaay too often and they're super easy (and highly profitable) to part out, unfortunately. And you need to join one of the Philly scooter clubs.


Yeah, our friend Chrissie drew that and did a good job of following what we asked of her, which was a crazed guy who was vaguely ska-oriented. I could quibble with her interpretation of a Vespa scooter, but that seems petty overall. She did that back in late '96 and still pops into ska shows now and then, especially The Slackers, The Aggrolites and Sonic Boom Six, to name a few.

In other news, you guys have it easy with tuning, maybe? My 82 Yammy 650 has 4 carbs, all of which are independently tuned, and you have to make your own tool to close off the proprietary special induction ports, because no one makes it anymore.


On the other hand, most of the parts are probably easier to get my hands on.

Vespa parts are easy to find if you make a little effort. Lambretta parts are a lot harder to find, but not impossible.

BTW, someone just contacted me that has a couple gorgeous Lammies in Syracuse. Looks like we'll be kicking the club back in gear very soon.

Honestly, that was directed by one of the better known scooterists in America and an old friend of mine -- he's come a long way from trying to sell Camels to little kids.

No offense to anyone that wants one, but you couldn't pay me to buy a moped -- which is legally anything under 50cc AND that can't go faster than 35mph.
