I think you guys put too much emphasis on dancing. I enjoy it, but it gives me the ability to see why someone would enjoy moshing. How can you tell someone that what they enjoy isn't as good as what you enjoy?

It's not a question of better than. If somebody doing their thing interferes with you doing your thing, then I have a problem with it. There is a line between good-natured rowdiness and flat-out hooliganism.

Remember fighting to keep the circle open at Streetlight? That was a total drag on my night. I had a similar experience when they played Mohawk Place last year; I spent half my time fighting the crowd so they wouldn't crush the people next to the stage.

Streetlight puts on a great show, but I won't see them at small venues any more.

I would tend to disagree. The huge circle pit going on isn't my thing, but it's always a fight to keep a pure dancing circle open.

it's only a fight when you don't know enough people.

jersey shows, it doesn't matter how obnoxious the crowd is for me, because usually i have enough friends at the shows that want to dance that we can get a good circle going somewhere else.

it was an issue at the SM show up in rochester because the only people i actually knew that wanted to dance were me, drew, and karen. other people got in on helping, but i don't know. i think i'ts easier when you all know how other people work. i'm sure it's something that will come with time and us all running into each other at shows (because the jersey thing started with the SM board). I think this board will probably come in handy hardcore.
