Hey guys! I haven't been on in a while (I actually just got an email from Danny telling me to come vote for best bands of 2009 so I did!)

I wasn't sure if anyone here has heard of LI's new ska band Nix86 (http://www.myspace.com/thenix86)

It's made up of George, Dave & Joe from HSFH, Johnny from Watu / Flaming Tsunamis, Dave from 32 Degrees in Hell, Dave from Edna's Goldfish / Step Lively, and my best friend Lori, and my boyfriend Lee. They kinda sound like old HSFH meets Edna's, (both the Daves are the most involved in the song writing process) but I figured I'd give you a heads up. Maybe they'll head up towards you soon!

Thanks for sharing this Joelle!!!

I'm liking this A LOT.

I've kept in contact with George all these years, so he and I just chatted about this and I pitched him some ideas about Syracuse and beyond and he promised to get back to me about it soon.

AN ALL-STAR LONG ISLAND SKA BAND IS LONG OVERDUE. Edna's Goldfish was a big, big deal in their time -- some good MTV rotation at one point -- and between them and HSFH and the other former band members involved in this, there should be a lot of residual goodwill they can tap. Not to mention the songs online sound AWESOME.
