well seemed to me that all the fun stuff at that bar were either the funk n waffle nights or anything put on by dan hollerback. now both of them have their own venues in the university area, so there really is no draw to get over to that side of town. too bad, i really liked that place..

good point i didn't think about that.
those promoters must have kept them alive and when they got their own rooms....
i liked going to lil italy at night i always thought it was an underutilized gem in syracuse.

It closed at the end of August. I know that because it was one of the many venues I checked for Devils Night Out in 2008.

Honestly, they had been struggling for awhile and always did best when Lost Horizon/Club Tundra was closed. The place really didn't take off until Club Tundra closed way back and with Lost Horizon reopening, that could not have been helpful. And yeah, Dan's jam band shows probably helped a lot too.

Little Italy is coming along well, but its still not a good location for a typical live music venue and may never be. Live music does best when around other places with lots of foot traffic, which is part of Dan's thinking of the Westcott Theater. And for the record, Dan took over the Westcott Theater in December 2007 -- the fact that it took him 10 months to get open is another story altogether.
