I'd like to invite you to check out a new video that I helped edit titled 'SILENCE MEANS CONSENT': BUNNY WAILER ON GUN VIOLENCE IN JAMAICA parts 1 and 2.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXvPDcOaR4Ehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Bjat2FfIt0It's a 13-minute video in two parts with Bunny Wailer's reasoning at the center of things, and it was done to support Amnesty International's 2008 report on public security in Jamaica.
Big thanks to CP's own Sista Irie for contributing concert photos of Bunny (from SNWMF07) and to Ryan Moore of Twilight Circus Dub Sound System and M Records for contributing music to the campaign.
I was unable to garner a signed permission from Dr. Dread to use any of Bunny's music, but the M Records cuts that the video uses -- 'Warrior Dub,' Luciano's acoustic version of 'What We Gonna Do Now' and Twilight Circus' "Love is What We Need" -- work out thematically great.
Check it out. Bunny was a terrific interview. I was once flopped by Bunny when I had an interview scheduled many years ago, and so doing this one was a very special experience for me, a completing of a circle so to speak.
