a 1965 Vespa (VNB 125cc), an original from Italy and not a Sears Allstate model. I have had it for close to ten years now and run it every summer. I had it out this morning and went zooming up and down the street.

0% financing on new Vespa scooters.

BTW, if you're interested, the nearest Vespa dealer to Syracuse is in Utica.

If you don't want to spend that much, I'd suggest getting a Stella (pictured below) from them, which is basically a Vespa without the name. These aren't really Vespa knock-offs, since the company making them made Vespas originally. It's pretty much a Vespa PX150.

Actually, there are an increasing number of scooter shops in NYC, which makes sense, as its a perfect place to operate one. They really make the most sense in urban environments.

Bump for a new listing.

1963 Vespa 150 (VBB2M). I have had this scooter for many years always expecting I would restore it at some point. I have had it up and running a number of times over the years, and it runs and works fine. It is a great machine and really should be restored properly. At this point, I am hoping to find a good home for it, knowing that it could be a great project for a real Vespa lover. Restored, this model can sell for around $5000.00

It looks like it's a solo seat with a luggage rack where the rear seat would normally be? Anyway, there's pictures at the listing. Guy's asking $2K.

And Tom, your brother seems like he's been getting some pretty significant wrenching experience. I bet he could help you get this crankin'. :)

$2000 is too high for a Vespa VBB in that condition. $1000 would be more reasonable, but even that is a bit on the high side. I paid $200 for my VBB and it was in about the same condition as this one and I got mine from the original owner, which is worth something extra in my book.

And saying it'll be worth $5000 restored is laughable. It would need to be restored *exactly* to mint condition to be worth anywhere near that and it'd still take an ignorant buyer to pay that much. I'm guessing this seller knows little about Vespas, since they obviously are mixing up the value of a restored GS with a restored VBB. There is no comparison between the two, honestly. The VBB, while having a nice classic style, is one of the lowliest Vespas on the used market, both because there were a ton of them imported to America and because there are limited things you can do to make them go faster than 50mph. GSs are very rare, more stylish and can easily do 65mph stock and even more with a little tinkering.

It's not a bad price, but hardly a bargain either. I wouldn't be surprised if whoever is selling this bought it really cheap, got it running and is now hoping to make a quick profit. There is a lot of that around old Vespas and its notable they appear to have no idea what model it is or engine size, etc. In my experience, that's usually because they either bought it as a cheap toy or because they're flipping it for a fast buck. Either way, buyer beware.

That is definitley an asian bike, you can ell by the chrome. He posted before that he bought it on line for 4000.00 a couple of years ago.
The chrome gives it away. If you dont know vespa take someone with you
and offer the guy 800.00 cause it will cost you about 2000.oo to get
it right. Lots of things to check for on that bike. Good luck

I didn't really look at the photo all that closely, but this guy is correct. This looks like a cheap "restoration" from Vietnam and those are MAJOR BAD NEWS.
