I definetly had a lot of fun going to see The Blackouts, mostly at the Statesman in Geneseo. I remember one time I saw them in Binghamton with the Pilfers and then drove up to Geneseo the next day to catch them again. What are those guys up to these days? Also, does anyone have any live recordings or newer songs aside from the album and EP?

Back in tha day.... Wow, I used to bump into a kid from the Goonies at the big ska shows in Rochester. They even played in Alfred for Hot Dog Day. Good times, even though their set was delayed and shortened due to the weather. It was alot of fun skankin in the mud right next to the band. I remember that day like it was this year... too bad it was 4 years age :( I had alot of fun back then.

I can think of more that should be on that poll... but oh well.

The Motives gets my vote.

Good point. Like you should have added bands like The Miggedys and The Professionals, for example ...

I really miss The Professionals. They were like a more third-wavish version of The Glow. The Miggedys never did much for me. An obvious attempt to recreate DHC that never quite worked well.

i'm gonna have to just pick the band with the coolest name... so in my opinion, it's gotta be stolen tango.

Yep that be me, I'm living the corporate life now. No fun, but I'll be living a new life within a year. I just need some time to go out to shows. The last show I went to was this past Skalloween when I dressed up in a suit and checkered suspenders. Since then I've been busy with school work and actual work.

Dude. The best name, by far, was The Skalapenos. Hot stuff!!

But seriously, the name was good, but we sucked.

Edit: Holy crow, Danny - I just pulled up the Rochester bands page, and noticed that you have an email contact for me on there that goes to an email address I haven't checked in at least ... 6 or 7 years. Ha. Not that I figure anyone's been trying to contact me about the Skalapenos. I just found it really amusing. I had actually completely forgotten about it...

I was at your first show at the Penny Arcade in Rochester and you owned the place that night. Everything seemed to get complicated after that night ... burning sofas, dancing lobsters, stolen scooters, drunken skinheads looking to beat up naive little rude boys from Rochester ... ; )

Ah yes! Those were the days. :D

Ha. Thanks. We had more presence than talent, I think. Although the guy who played tenor sax was really frickin' good.

And man... if you think that was good stuff, you really gotta check out the Emersons sometime. Seriously. Sooner or later, I'm gonna get some mp3s up on our new MySpace page here. And maybe someday we'll get out to Syracuse to play...

I've always been willing to book you here. It's never been a problem on my end ...
